Apple iPhone 16 prices in Pakistan slashed, PTA updates tax structure for 2025

Apple has slashed prices across its iPhone 16 lineup in Pakistan, offering significant price cuts ranging from Rs4,000 to Rs14,000. The price adjustment is part of Apple’s revised pricing strategy for its flagship device, which launched in September last year, making the premium smartphones more affordable for Pakistani consumers.

Revised iPhone 16 Prices in Pakistan

The new prices for the iPhone 16 models are as follows:

  • iPhone 16 (128GB): Rs361,700
  • iPhone 16 (256GB): Rs401,000
  • iPhone 16 (512GB): Rs480,250

For the iPhone 16 Plus, prices start at Rs401,000 for the 128GB model, rising to Rs441,000 for the 256GB version and Rs520,000 for the 512GB variant.

The iPhone 16 Pro series also sees price adjustments:

  • iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): Rs446,000
  • iPhone 16 Pro (256GB): Rs484,500
  • iPhone 16 Pro (512GB): Rs564,500
  • iPhone 16 Pro (1TB): Rs644,500

For the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max, the revised prices are:

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max (256GB): Rs526,000
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max (512GB): Rs604,500
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max (1TB): Rs684,500

These price reductions are expected to make the iPhone 16 lineup more competitive in the Pakistani market, where affordability remains a key concern for consumers.

Updated PTA Tax Structure for iPhone 16 Imports (2025)

Alongside Apple’s price revisions, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new tax structure for the import of iPhone 16 models in 2025. The updated PTA tax rates vary based on whether the device is registered using a passport or a national ID card.

The new PTA tax rates are as follows:

  • iPhone 16: Rs128,000 on passport, Rs153,000 on ID card
  • iPhone 16 Plus: Rs134,000 on passport, Rs160,000 on ID card
  • iPhone 16 Pro: Rs167,000 on passport, Rs197,000 on ID card
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: Rs181,500 on passport, Rs211,000 on ID card

This updated tax structure is designed to regulate the import of high-end smartphones and ensure compliance with PTA registration requirements.

Apple’s move to reduce prices, coupled with the new PTA tax policy, is expected to influence the local smartphone market significantly. While the price reductions may attract more buyers, the updated tax rates could offset the savings for those importing devices into Pakistan.
