Balochistan government launches ‘Benazir Kisan Card’ to support small farmers
The Balochistan government has announced the launch of the Benazir Kisan Card, a subsidy program aimed at providing financial support to small-scale farmers across the province. Approved by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to uplifting the agricultural sector and empowering rural communities.
The Benazir Kisan Card will offer targeted subsidies to small farmers, helping them manage agricultural expenses and improve productivity. The program will be managed through a cloud-based system, developed and implemented by the province’s Information Technology Department, ensuring efficiency and transparency over the next two years.

Spokesperson Shahid Rind emphasized that the Benazir Kisan Card aligns with the farmer-friendly vision of former president Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He credited PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for directing a comprehensive strategy for the welfare of farmers, particularly in Sindh and Balochistan.
“This initiative underscores our government’s dedication to providing meaningful support to small-scale farmers, who are the backbone of our economy,” Rind stated.
The program will be rolled out in two phases. The first phase will utilize resources from the Balochistan government, while the second phase will seek additional funding and assistance from the federal government. This phased approach ensures immediate support for farmers while paving the way for a sustainable long-term impact.
