Google unveils ‘Top Search Trends’ in Pakistan for 2024
Google has revealed Pakistan’s top search trends for 2024, offering a glimpse into the interests and digital habits of the country’s online users. From cricket to technology and food, the trends highlight a nation deeply connected to its culture while embracing modern advancements.
Unsurprisingly, cricket dominated the search trends, with the ICC T20 World Cup grabbing the spotlight. Queries about the PSL 2024 schedule, matches, and players like Shoaib Malik and Sajid Khan reflected Pakistan’s enduring love for the sport.

Arshad Nadeem, who earned Pakistan its first Olympic gold medal in nearly three decades, was also a notable highlight among trending searches.
In the entertainment realm, Pakistani dramas such as Ishq Murshid and Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum remained popular, while Bollywood movies like Animal, Dunki, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Stree 2 captured interest. Reality TV shows, including Bigg Boss and the much-anticipated Mirzapur Season 3, also garnered significant attention.
Celebrity searches ranged from local stars like Sana Javed and Zoya Nasir to Indian business magnate Mukesh Ambani. Social media influencers Hareem Shah and Minahil Malik were also among the most searched names.
Food enthusiasts turned to Google for culinary inspiration, searching for recipes like banana bread, creamy pasta, malpura, and tawa kaleji. Quick meals like garlic bread and egg noodles, as well as refreshing seasonal drinks like peach iced tea, highlighted the diverse tastes of Pakistani users.
The technology sector reflected growing interest in artificial intelligence, with searches for tools like Gemini and Remaker AI on the rise. Meanwhile, new smartphone releases from Infinix, Redmi, Vivo, and Apple captured the attention of tech-savvy consumers.
Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, described the 2024 ‘Year in Search’ report as a reflection of a nation rooted in its traditions yet embracing the digital age.
“Whether it’s cricket, the kitchen, film, or the search bar, Pakistanis are using Google to explore their passions, connect with their culture, and shape their future,” Qureshi stated. He also noted that advancements in AI are reshaping how users interact with search tools, with Google committed to improving its features for Pakistani users.
