Imran Khan faces 188 legal cases amid escalating troubles

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is now entangled in a staggering 188 legal cases, a report by the Ministry of Interior revealed on Friday. The report, submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC), outlines the growing legal challenges facing the jailed leader.

Of the total cases, 74 have been filed in Islamabad, while 99 are registered in Punjab. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where PTI holds power, two cases have been lodged. Additionally, Khan is under investigation in seven Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) inquiries and faces three cases in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) courts.

The legal troubles also include Khan’s pending appeal against his conviction in the Toshakhana case, a high-profile issue involving alleged misuse of state gifts. Furthermore, new cases have emerged linked to PTI’s protests in October, November, and December of last year.

The detailed report was provided by the Interior Ministry in response to a request from Imran Khan’s sister, Noureen Niazi, underscoring the mounting pressure on the cricket-turned-politician as his legal battles continue to expand.
