‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ expands public service delivery across Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s flagship initiative, ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’, is gaining momentum, providing dignified employment opportunities to educated youth and bringing essential public services directly to citizens’ doorsteps. The program, operational in 32 districts, is transforming governance and public service delivery across Punjab.
On Friday, a Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) delegation conducted an awareness session at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Sargodha. The session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Umar Farooq, Joint Director Faisal Mumtaz, and other officials. Discussions focused on expanding the program’s reach and enhancing its operational efficiency.

Through the PITB-designed Dastak portal, citizens can access over 31 public services at nominal fees. Trained facilitators visit homes to assist with services such as issuing domiciles, FIR copies, marriage certificates, and renewing international driving licenses.
In Sargodha, 83 trained facilitators equipped with ID cards and authority letters have been onboarded to ensure efficient service delivery. Citizens can request services via the Dastak helpline (1202), mobile app, or web portal (dastak.punjab.gov.pk), streamlining access to government services.
An earlier seminar at the University of Sargodha engaged students and faculty, highlighting the initiative’s role in modernizing governance and empowering youth. ADCG Umar Farooq and PITB officials emphasized how the program is bridging gaps in public service delivery and creating opportunities for the educated workforce.
