Maryam Nawaz to Make Historic Visit to China as Punjab’s First Woman Chief Minister

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is set to embark on a historic visit to China from December 8 to 15, becoming the first woman chief minister of Punjab to visit the country. The visit comes at the special invitation of the ruling Communist Party of China.
Maryam will lead a delegation to key Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong, during her eight-day official trip. The primary aim of the visit is to strengthen ties between China’s ruling party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), while promoting deeper collaboration between the two nations.

The visit will focus on advancing cooperation in critical sectors such as information technology, healthcare, industry, smog management, and climate change. Enhancing business and trade relations between Punjab and China will also be a central theme of the discussions.
In addition to meeting senior Chinese leaders and officials, Maryam will be briefed on China’s development model and governance system. The visit is expected to foster bilateral cooperation and pave the way for new initiatives to benefit both regions.
