National Hifz and Qirat competition 2025 announced

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced the 40th Annual National Hifz and Qirat Competition, inviting nominations from across Pakistan, including all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt, district and provincial-level contests are being organized, with provinces instructed to finalize and submit their nominations by January 15. Winners from these rounds will qualify for the national competition.

This year’s event will feature separate categories for boys, girls, and youth, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities. Umar highlighted that national-level winners will earn the chance to represent Pakistan in international competitions, showcasing their Quranic recitation and memorization talents on a global stage. The initiative aims to promote Quranic education and nurture young talent across the country.
Meanwhile, the ministry is also focused on facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage. Over 72,000 applications have already been received under the Government Hajj Scheme. Monday and Tuesday mark the final two days for submissions at designated banks.
To enroll in the Regular Hajj Scheme, applicants must deposit an initial payment of Rs 200,000. A second installment, totaling Rs 400,000 and covering additional facilities, must be paid within ten days of the balloting. The final payment deadline is February 10. The ministry has also introduced an option for overseas Pakistanis to sponsor Hajj applications for themselves or their relatives, streamlining the process and making the pilgrimage more accessible.
