Training 50,000 Youth for Global Skills Demand
The board has launched a flagship initiative to train 50,000 youth in sector-specific skills, aimed at addressing global labor shortages and driving economic growth. This program targets key industries experiencing high demand, such as Information Technology, Mining and Minerals, Agriculture and Livestock, Healthcare and Services, Construction, Electrical and Energy, Driving (LTV, HTV, HMO), Aesthetics, and Hospitality and Tourism. By equipping young individuals with these specialized skills, the program seeks to position Pakistan’s workforce as a competitive asset in international labor markets.
Training 10,000 Skilled Workers for Guaranteed Jobs Abroad
NAVTTC, in collaboration with Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs), has introduced a program to train 10,000 workers for guaranteed job placements in countries like GCC nations, Japan, and Europe. This initiative focuses on high-demand sectors such as healthcare, construction, Agri-Tech, and manufacturing. By facilitating employment in these industries, the program not only provides individuals with sustainable livelihoods but also enhances Pakistan’s foreign remittance inflows, further strengthening the country’s economy and global workforce contribution.
Empowering Marginalized Regions in KP
To uplift underprivileged communities, the Board approved a targeted training program for 500 youth from the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Developed in collaboration with international agencies such as TAKAMOL, this initiative aims to provide industry-relevant skills to individuals from marginalized regions, ensuring they are equipped to meet both local and international labor demands. This program is part of a broader strategy to improve employability and economic participation in underserved areas.
Training 500 Nurses for US Licensure
In response to the global demand for healthcare professionals, NAVTTC has partnered with the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council and the National Excellence Institute of Nursing to prepare 500 nurses for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). This program equips nurses with the necessary skills and qualifications to secure employment opportunities in the United States, addressing critical shortages in the global healthcare sector while enhancing Pakistan’s reputation for producing qualified professionals.
Advanced Technology Training Through Coursera
NAVTTC has also collaborated with Coursera to train 1,500 individuals in advanced technology fields. Participants will gain internationally recognized certifications through a blended learning approach, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete in global markets. This partnership is a significant step towards bridging the gap between Pakistan’s workforce and the rapidly evolving technology sector, providing opportunities for youth to excel in high-demand fields.
Standardizing Workforce Training
To ensure quality and consistency in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), NAVTTC has introduced a licensing regime for CBT&A assessors. This system includes structured selection, training, and grading processes to standardize workforce training. By implementing this framework, NAVTTC aims to maintain quality assurance and elevate the standards of vocational education across the country.
Uniform SOPs for TVET Institutes
The Board has approved the implementation of uniform standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all TVET institutes nationwide. These SOPs are designed to align vocational education and training with international standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices. This move is expected to streamline operations across TVET institutes, fostering a more efficient and globally competitive workforce.
Specific notices for each program will be issued by NAVTTC in the coming days, detailing the eligibility criteria and other requirements.
