PIA to launch six new flight routes in January 2025, expanding domestic and international operations
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced six new flight routes starting in January 2025 as part of its efforts to strengthen its presence both domestically and in the Middle East. The expansion includes five international routes connecting Pakistani cities to Gulf destinations and one new domestic route.
PIA will launch four new international connections aimed at enhancing travel between Pakistan and key Gulf countries.

Starting January 20, the national carrier will operate twice-weekly flights between Sialkot and Bahrain. The same day, PIA will introduce a weekly service from Faisalabad to Jeddah, catering to the high demand for travel to Saudi Arabia.
From January 21, a weekly Sialkot-Doha flight will be added to the schedule, followed by twice-weekly flights between Lahore and Dammam starting January 22. Additionally, the airline will launch a weekly Lahore-Kuwait service on January 25.
On the domestic front, PIA will introduce a new weekly service between Karachi and Peshawar, starting January 25. The new route is expected to facilitate business and leisure travelers, improving connectivity between the two major cities.
To support the route expansion, PIA has restored several aircraft to active service. The airline has recently reactivated a Boeing 777, an Airbus 320, and an ATR, increasing its operational fleet to 19 aircraft. The carrier aims to expand its fleet further to 24 aircraft within the next six months to meet growing travel demand.
The new routes will primarily utilize Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 aircraft, ensuring passengers experience comfortable and reliable service on their journeys.
The route expansion comes after PIA recently resumed its services to Europe and the United Kingdom, following compliance with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements. This milestone has paved the way for the national carrier to rebuild its network and improve its operations.

PIA’s new routes are expected to strengthen travel ties between Pakistan and the Gulf region, addressing the growing demand for flights to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.
