PM and President express grief over loss of Pakistani lives in Greece boat tragedy
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of Pakistani lives in a boat capsizing incident near an island in Greece. Both leaders have emphasized the need for urgent action to combat human trafficking and prevent such tragedies in the future.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described human trafficking as a cruel and heinous crime that destroys countless lives and devastates families. He stated that human traffickers exploit vulnerable individuals by deceiving them with false promises of a better future.

The prime minister has directed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and submit a detailed report at the earliest. He stressed the importance of identifying the individuals responsible and ensuring they face strict punishment.
“Concrete steps must be taken to prevent such incidents in the future,” PM Shehbaz said in a statement issued by the PM House. He also called for comprehensive measures to curb the activities of human smuggling networks operating in the region.
President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his grief over the tragic loss of lives and extended condolences to the families of the Pakistani expatriates who perished in the incident.
“Human trafficking is a heinous crime that leads to the loss of precious lives,” the president stated. He urged authorities to expedite efforts to combat human trafficking and ensure that such tragedies do not recur.
In his statement, President Zardari prayed for patience and strength for the bereaved families to bear the loss of their loved ones.
