PTI to announce ‘Civil Disobedience Movement’ details today
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram has announced that the party will unveil the details of its much-anticipated civil disobedience movement today (Saturday). He confirmed that the movement will be executed in phases, with a comprehensive strategy set to be disclosed after the Martyrs’ Day gathering.
In an interview with a private channel, Sheikh Waqas shared that the Martyrs’ Day gathering, initially scheduled for December 13, has been rescheduled to December 15 and will take place in Peshawar. He emphasized that the gathering is a solemn prayer ceremony without any political agenda or decisions being made.

Following the prayer event, PTI plans to convene a meeting of its seven founding leaders to finalize the strategies for the civil disobedience movement. “The phases of the movement will be announced after the prayer ceremony,” Akram stated, adding that efforts are underway to arrange discussions with PTI founder Imran Khan to shape the movement’s direction.
Addressing claims made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Sheikh Waqas refuted allegations that PTI had sought negotiations with anyone. “We have not and will not request talks,” he said, while clarifying that Imran Khan has formed a committee open to dialogue with all stakeholders.
Responding to criticisms from political opponents, Sheikh Waqas defended the PTI chairman and his family, including his sisters and wife Bushra Bibi, as well as the party’s broad support base. He dismissed baseless accusations and advised Khawaja Asif to focus on his own political affairs instead of targeting PTI.
Waqas also dismissed accusations regarding Imran Khan’s stance on the military, asserting that the party and its founder have no animosity toward the armed forces. “The founding chairman has never incited hatred or spoken against the army. He has always said that this army is ours, and this country is ours,” he stressed.
