Sindh launches ‘Senior Citizen Card’ in collaboration with NADRA

The Sindh Social Welfare Department, in partnership with NADRA, has officially launched the Senior Citizen Card (SCC), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing enhanced services and benefits to the elderly population of Sindh.

During the signing ceremony for the agreement between the Social Welfare Department and NADRA, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare, Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur, highlighted the significance of the initiative. “Sindh is proud to be the first province in Pakistan to introduce a dedicated card for senior citizens, reflecting our commitment to their dignity and well-being,” he stated.

Previously known as the Azadi Card, the rebranded SCC will provide over 3.7 million senior citizens in Sindh with access to improved services, including health and travel facilities. The initiative is part of the Sindh government’s broader efforts to enhance the welfare of its senior population.

The launch event was attended by key officials, including Secretary of the Social Welfare Department Pervaiz Ahmed Sehar and Director General Athar Hussain Mirani, who expressed their dedication to ensuring the successful implementation of the program.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting the welfare and quality of life for senior citizens in Sindh, setting a precedent for other provinces to follow.
