Winter vacation schedule announced for schools in KP, Balochistan and Punjab
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has officially announced the winter vacation schedule for schools across the province. Schools in the plain areas of KP will observe a short winter break from December 22 to December 31, 2024. However, schools in the mountainous regions will remain closed for a longer period, from December 22 to February 28, 2025, due to severe weather conditions.
In a related development, Bolan Medical College (BMC) in Quetta has also declared its winter break. Teaching activities at the college will be suspended starting Monday, with the break continuing until February 28, 2025. Administrative staff, however, will continue to perform their duties during this period, and teachers have been advised to observe vacations in line with regulations.

The winter break schedule in Balochistan has also been outlined by the provincial government. As per a notification issued on December 13, schools in cold areas will remain closed from December 16 to February 28, reopening on March 1, 2025. Meanwhile, in warmer regions, winter vacations will begin on January 1 and conclude on January 10, 2025.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, both public and private schools will observe winter vacations from December 20 to January 10, 2025, providing a 20-day holiday for students and staff.
