Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt was arrested in Lahore for the illegal possession of a lion cub and the public display of firearms, sparking widespread attention. Authorities from the Wildlife Department and local police conducted a raid at Butt’s residence in the Chung area following reports of wildlife violations and illegal weapons possession.
Rajab Butt, a prominent social media influencer, is known for his engaging family vlogs, stunts, and lifestyle content across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. With over 4.56 million subscribers on YouTube, Butt has cultivated a significant fan base, particularly among younger audiences. His videos frequently showcase personal moments, travel adventures, and a variety of lifestyle themes, earning him widespread popularity in the digital space.

During the raid, authorities seized a lion cub, which is protected under wildlife laws, and weapons that were being displayed without authorization. Officials confirmed that Butt violated wildlife protection regulations and laws governing the public exhibition of firearms.
In Pakistan, wildlife laws strictly regulate the possession and trade of exotic animals, requiring permits from the provincial wildlife departments. The illegal possession or trade of protected species is punishable under the Punjab Wildlife (Protection, Preservation, Conservation, and Management) Act, 1974. These regulations aim to protect endangered species and preserve biodiversity.
The Wildlife Department emphasized the seriousness of such violations, stating that the possession of exotic animals without proper permits is not only unlawful but also poses risks to both the animal and the public. Police officials also highlighted the dangers of publicly displaying weapons, noting that it promotes a culture of irresponsibility.
Legal proceedings against Butt are now underway, and authorities have stated that the investigation into his actions will continue.
